the caption originally said "st. lucy holding her eyes", which was incorrect. i mistook st. odile of alsace for st. lucy because their iconography is so similar.
odile's story is quite different from lucy's though. her deal was that she was born blind and later miraculously recovered her sight when she was baptised. so no martyrdom for her 👍
